Pune to Mumbai Cab Fare 2026: One-Way Taxi Rates by Car Type
Planning a Pune to Mumbai cab? See typical one-way fares by car type, what affects the price and how to avoid surprise charges
Why Pune to Mumbai Cab Prices Vary So Much
Search for a Pune to Mumbai cab and you'll notice something odd. Two companies quote ₹2,200 and ₹3,500 for what looks like the same trip. Neither is necessarily lying. They're just counting different things.
How far is it, really?
The drive is roughly 150 km, and on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway it usually takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Traffic around Vashi, Panvel or the Lonavala stretch on a Friday evening can add a lot more.
How cab fares are worked out
Most one-way cabs charge a rate per kilometre, then add a few extras. Our current rates are ₹15/km for the Ertiga, ₹16/km for the Kia Carens and ₹18/km for the Innova Crysta.
On a 150 km route, that works out to roughly ₹2,250 to ₹2,700 before extras. Treat that as a ballpark, not a quote.

What can change the final number
-
Toll charges. The expressway toll is a real cost. Ask whether it's already in the price.
-
Driver allowance. Some operators add this for long or night trips.
-
Your drop point. South Mumbai or the airport costs more time than Navi Mumbai.
-
Waiting time and extra stops. A quick chai stop is fine. A one-hour detour isn't free.
-
Travel time. Late-night and early-morning runs sometimes cost more.
One way or round trip?
If you're not coming back with the same driver, book one way. You pay for the distance you travel, not for a return leg you'll never use.
Three questions to ask before you book
-
Is toll included in the quoted fare?
-
Is there any driver allowance or night charge?
-
Will I get the price in writing, on WhatsApp or SMS?
A straight answer to all three is a good sign.
